I just tested xgboost-metal by @tunguz on my M5 Pro Mac mini. It trained up to 2.56x faster on the GPU than stock XGBoost on all 18 CPU cores. 5M rows took 13.7s vs 35.0s on CPU. On 1M rows it was 3.4s vs 7.8s, or 2.29x. Accuracy and AUC matched to 4 decimal places. It keeps the same Python API, which makes it a great tool for anyone training XGBoost models on a Mac.
